Such a honor to became the first cook ever to win both Asia’s Best Pastry Chef and Asia’s Best Female Chef title in the history of the 50 Best lists.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to my family, staff and guests ,the chefs who has always supported me from the beginning.
The awards are extremely valuable as more people will be receptive to my words.
One of the reasons why there are so few female chefs in the culinary industry is the long and irregular hours. It is extremely difficult to build a career while raising children. Thus, one of my motivation is to foster an environment in the culinary industry where this is possible and to encourage the success of female chefs. In that sense, awards are powerful. They will leave a bigger impression and give you a bigger voice which acts like a passport for this transformation.
From that aspect, the next goal would be to win the “World’s Best Female Chef” award.
